It’s finally happened, and I cannot believe how lucky I am to say this, but we’ve officially hit 100 subscribers for the Substack!
I just want to say a brief ‘thank you’ to all of the people in our community who support each other and this space to continue writing about the amazing shows and performances we have here in Central Arkansas.
When I started this, I often heard folks referring to our community as an “arts desert”, extremely isolated from everything else happening in live theater across the nation. It was disheartening, but it also got me thinking about how we could become more connected as a community and raise each other up.
It all started with an idea to create a living, breathing Calendar that held all the local show information in one place. But, it quickly evolved into this amazing place where I’ve been able to see shows, talk about them, meet the actors and minds behind their creativity and even now, do a little extra work for my day job by writing “professional” reviews!
So again, a huge thank you to all the people here who support this Substack, engage with it, and continue to convince others to join the cause!
