Caleb at the Conference
A follow up to my last post...
For the last three days, I’ve been in Northwest Arkansas at the Consumer Impact Summit, learning from leaders in businesses both local and large about how they have been putting intentional, motivated effort to creating spaces that better our communities and world.
Now, I know what you’re thinking…
“Caleb, what does this have to do with community theatre?”
Well, my humble reader, it’s events like these that put into action everything that I talked about in my last post.
Years of being in a theatrical environment have given me something that I don’t think you get through many other walks of life.
It’s being a versatile conversationalist.
It’s thinking on your feet to hold your own in a space that you otherwise are an outsider in.
It’s taking a small prompt from conversation and being able to run with it in an intentional, thoughtful way.
I will always and happily stand by what I’ve said about businesses hiring theatre practitioners, especially stepping into these spaces and seeing that one thing rules above all across industry, genre and people: community.
Getting the chance to come up and hear from each of the amazing speakers, some of whom have come from across the pond (Scotland) and throughout the country, has only helped provide me with more foundation for my work and how I can inform our clients on the driving force of community, intention, and impact.
I think the same can be said for our theatre community in Central Arkansas.
The intention in our stories we tell.
The community we provide.
The impact we create.
It’s a shorter post this morning, and I promise the Weekly Update is on it’s way (gotta finish the actual work first, y’all), but I wanted to put this out in front of you to get your gears turning and thinking about how you fit into those puzzle pieces!
Also, don’t forget, if you want your voice to be heard here, anonymous or otherwise, take a moment to fill out the form here!
